Oaks Perth is centrally located - within walking distance to everything including the train station, ferry, kings park, bars restaurants etc. The staff were friendly and check in was smooth. The kitchenette had everything I needed for a short stay, with clean cutlery and crockery. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a budget-friendly option when visiting perth.

There were many issues with my room the first night: (1) cold shower tap was not working, called receptionist and someone came up to check, it was indeed faulty. I was told there is no maintenance team on duty, so I had to wait till the next morning to get it fixed. I had to shower by kneeling down to use the water tap below. (2) Baby cot, we changed our plan so we brought our infant baby along. So I requested for baby cot last minute, I was nagged by the staff that because I didn’t make request for baby cot, so they didn’t know what to do to help me. Eventually a staff came up and tried to setup the baby cot, but there was no mattress. Throughout this, few staff kept commenting how this is caused by me not making request for baby cot. Okay, maybe it’s my fault for not requesting and for changing my plan, but the least hotel staff can do is to solve guest problem, instead of putting blame on guest, isn’t it? (3) it’s our first stay at Oaks Perth, so we didn’t know how to turn on the cooking hob. There was no instruction. We called the reception at 11pm 20 Apr 2024, we were told “I don’t know, I can’t help you. You shouldn’t call at this hour. Call tomorrow.” then he hung up the phone rudely. As a hotel guest, there is a certain hour I should adhere to seek help??? So that night we couldn’t boil water to sterilise our infant‘s bottles. The duty manager resolved this by upgrading our room the next day, but none of the staff were apologetic about the whole situation, this is very disappointing and I have to say this is the worst hotel stay experience I ever had in my life. Thanks for ruining our Perth trip, and our first trip with our newborn

I chose this hotel based on location, price (which included discount from using a reward night) and mostly positive reviews. Hotel is in a great location in the CBD, close to train station, shopping, restaurants and Northbridge. Check-in was okay, but I think the staff were feeling a bit stressed due to the number of people checking in or requiring assistance. They certainly weren't rude, but they weren't that friendly either. I encountered the same staff on check-out and they were definitely more positive / friendly on that occasion. Room was very spacious and had everything I needed as a solo person staying for one night. Bed felt comfortable and I slept well, but I woke up with a slightly sore back. Bathroom was huge, but somehow reminded me of a hospital bathroom (just an observation and not a criticism). Room has a kitchenette, which is handy, but I didn't use it as I was only staying overnight. The table near the kitchenette only has one chair, which would be very inconvenient for meals if there were two persons staying. Overall, a pleasant overnight stay in a great location.
